Contract Award

Spectraserv was recently awarded a one-year contract for the transportation and beneficial reuse of biosolids generated by the Camden County Utilities Authority. It is expected that up to 20,000 tons of material will be lime stabilized at a site in Pennsylvania and then used to reclaim stripmined land. Plant Expansion Project

On Friday, January 29, 2010, elected officials representing the Township of Parsippany and other local entities took part in a ground breaking ceremony for a $21 million upgrade to their 38-year old wastewater treatment plant.

Previously, the township council awarded a contract to Spectraserv to move ahead with the project which consists of extensive plant-wide process improvements and modifications. The plant upgrade is expected to be completed by December, 2011.

After completing the plant renovation, the Township expects to save at least $900,000 a year in energy costs. It is hoped that by reducing operating costs, the facility can stabilize rate charges for its customers.

Activities on this project began earlier this year with pre-construction meetings between Spectraserv personnel and the Township’s engineers and the set-up of mobile office trailers for on-site staff. In addition, Spectraserv engineers met with equipment vendors and placed orders for materials and supplies necessary to start construction.
